The U.S. COPD Coalition convened the fall Semi-Annual Business Meeting in Tampa, FL on November 4th, 2015. Slides presented at the meeting can be accessed here. The meeting included a public policy update, information on the upcoming coordinated lung health campaign to protect access to supplemental oxygen, a review of issues related to COPD hospital re-admissions and member updates. During the member update period several representatives of member organizations discussed recent and upcoming initiatives. The update from the American Lung Association can be found here. The COPD Patient Powered Research Network whiteboard video can be found here. Lastly, the meeting included an update on the bylaws revision process and nominations for new Board members. Bylaw revisions will be voted on within the first two weeks in December, followed by an open call to member organizations for nominations to the Board. A nominating committee has been formed, led by Ken Benson, who will review the nominations received and prepare a slate for the current Board to vote on.
Thank you to everyone who participated. Stay tuned for more exciting and critical activities related to oxygen access and other pressing policy issues that will require the full lung health community to be engaged around in the coming months.
